BE OF SERVICE
Make an IMPACT through Community Service
CSL Grand Junction is committed to creating “a world that works for everyone and a life that works for me.” Community Service is about making this commitment real – it’s our LOVE in action. Volunteering is one of our five spiritual practices–Sacred Service. The Sacred Service of our CSL Grand Junction volunteers “takes it to the streets”–our joy, our love, our hearts and hands of service. Our time, talent and dedication are a testament to being the change in the world. We serve both in our local community and in supporting global initiatives.
“It is quite a burden lifted when we realize we do not have to move the world – it is going to move anyway. This realization does not lessen our duty or our social obligation. It clarifies it. It enables us to do joyously, and free from morbidity, that which we should do in the social state.” – Ernest Holmes
“Prayer in action is love. Love in action is service.” – Mother Teresa
Our current initiatives include:
HomewardBound –
We serve dinner for those at HomewardBound, the city’s local homeless shelter. Check our calendar to see when we are cooking next! We have collected socks during the winter for HomewardBound. We have also purchased, wrapped, and delivered thermals as our Christmas gift to those adults who spend time at that shelter.

Recycling and sustainable community –
CSL Grand Junction is a green community. We practice this in our kitchen, offices, and around the community, while inspiring our community members to take a green consciousness home and into their workplaces.
CSL Grand Junction is continually inspired to offer and partner with peace, hunger, homelessness, poverty and other social justice projects as our community members bring forward their passions and commitments. Are you one of those people? Contact Rev. Anna Scott at revanna@cslgrandjunction.org
Adopt a Street –
We have adopted a street and we pick up litter on it multiple times each year.
Team Lead – Rev. Sheryl Rogers wrldpez50@gmail.com
And More –
We participate in various community events and interfaith community organizing. We always look forward to new ways we can serve and give back to our community.
